Unlike paints or surface sealers, Vapor Lock penetrates inside concrete and permanently blocks the
seepage of radon by sealing the capillaries in concrete. Vapor Lock must be applied to all
concrete in contact with the ground, be it a basement or a foundation slab.
Vapor Lock seals the concrete. Afterwards, all cracks or openings have to be sealed and
caulked just like with any other radon mitigation method (details in Application Instructions). By
using Vapor Lock, most homeowners reduce radon to a safe level.
Not only does Vapor Lock close concrete off to radon gases but it also reduces water vapor
in the basement. This translates to a much more comfortable feeling basement. Vapor Lock is a
great step in moisture control before finishing your basement.
Use on the floors and walls.
Used in conjunction with caulking joints in the basement floors, Vapor Lock is extremely
effective in reducing radon and moisture.
